Super Power

In our world today, we are surrounded by super heroes.
My personal favorite would  have to be Captain America.

Okay, so that has nothing to do with what I wanted to write about, but I just couldn't help it- he is adorable!
 
Anyway- so someone asked me the other day if I could have any super power in the world, what would it be. I thought about it and could not come up with an answer. Now I have an answer.
 
I would want the ability to read what people are thinking. Life would be so much easier. There would be no guessing game with anything. You would be able to tell if someone was having a bad day or if a guy liked you. You could really help people get things accomplished. I would be able to see if my students really are understanding something or if they are lying.
 
So that would be my super power. If you hear about a military experiment or see any radio active spiders anywhere, let me know.

Freshman Mentoring?

You want me to be honest? I really have no idea what Freshman Mentoring is or what it is good for. But it is required, so I have to do it. I had to sign up for a 'bundle'. The first bundle I signed up for was just a general writing class. I am actually very excited for it! I hope that it won't be too hard, but I also hope that I learn a lot. Oh, and did I mention that it is at 8 am! Sigh...I think this will actually be better in the long run. Hopefully... The second bundle I signed up for was suggested for elementary education majors. It combines biology and human development. Basically, all that means is a lot of people will be in both classes with me. I am excited for this, so that I will be get to know people with the same major. Also, I think these will be some of my favorite classes. I am actually excited that my college schedule is forming. It makes me so excited to see my future falling into place. CRAZY!

Lily- Your Birth Story

I want to put into perspective a moment from my life into terms that you might be able to relate with more… You are walking with your two-year old in the park. As you are walking, you see right in front of you a gun on the ground. What are your immediate thoughts and feelings? Are you worried about the safety of your child? The gun might not be loaded. Why not just let them play with it or even just touch it? OF COURSE YOU WOULDN’T THINK THAT! Any parent’s first reaction would be of fear and worry. You would think what if your child had been alone for that moment and found the gun by themselves. What if they had picked it up? What if they would have killed themselves accidentally? This is exactly how I felt when I walked through the park one day and saw a peanut shell on the ground. I was so grateful that I was holding Mitch’s hand in that moment.
